SUMMARY:Heisey Wind Ensemble presents “A Salute to Ohio’s Heroes”
DESCRIPTION:The Heisey Wind Ensemble will begin their 42nd Season with a concert titled A Salute to Ohio’s Heroes on Sunday\, October 25\, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.  The concert will be held at the John W. Alford Performing Arts Hall in the John Gilbert Reese Center on the campus of The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College.\nThe Heisey Wind Ensemble (HWE) will honor Olympian Jesse Owens\, comedian Bob Hope\, composer Henry Fillmore\, aviators Wilbur & Orville Wright\, astronaut Jim Lovell and film maker Steven Spielberg.  For this October 25th concert\, Dr. Russel Mikkelson has programmed Olympic Fanfare and Theme by John Williams\, The Adventures of Jesse Owens by Michael Daugherty\, Salute to Bob Hope arranged Warren Barker\, Men of Ohio by Henry Fillmore\, Aerodynamics by David Gillingham\, Apollo 13 by James Horner and Adventures on Earth (from E.T.) by John Williams.\nTickets for HWE concerts are available only at the door.  Adults are $15\, seniors (60+) are $10 and students are $5.  Additional information can be found at the band’s web site at www.heiseywindensemble.org
