SUMMARY:'Still Be My Vision' Concert
DESCRIPTION:The 70-voice Coshocton Community Choir\, including auditioned singers traveling from 11 Ohio counties\, will share selections from  its Spring concert\, ‘Still Be My Vision\,’ at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday\, April 19\, 2026\, at the First United Methodist Church\, 88 North 5th Street\, Newark\, OH. The concert will feature a selection of sacred and secular choral music\, including arrangements and settings of familiar Easter hymns\, classical works\, spirituals and more.\nThere is no cost to attend the concert\, and a free-will offering will be accepted to help meet the expenses involved in preparing for concerts and carrying out the organization’s mission.\n“We are singing a new piece for us this year\, ‘Be Thou My Vision’\,” shared the choir’s founder and director\, Charles R. Snyder\, “and I felt that piece was a perfect one to build the concert theme around. It seems so fitting that during our world’s current uncertain times\, to remember that we still need this positive focus.”\nOther concert selections include ‘Do Not Be Afraid’; ‘Hark\, I Hear the Harps Eternal’; ‘Jesu\, Joy of Man’s Desiring’; ‘We Walk By Faith’; and ‘Hallelujah’ from Messiah. The concert will also include special settings of familiar sacred tunes including ‘St. Theodulph’s Hymn (All Glory\, Laud and Honor)’; ‘Sing to God a Joyful Song!’; ‘Amazing Grace’; ‘Lift High the Cross’; and ‘It Is Well With My Soul’.\n“Some of these numbers you’ve heard over the years\, including many that are very powerful songs that we hope will inspire you and renew your faith\,” continued Snyder.\nNow in its 55th season\, the Coshocton Community Choir was organized in 1971 by Snyder\, an accomplished Ohio teacher\, choral conductor\, and church musician. Since its founding\, more than 900 singers have sung with the Choir\, which has become known for its renditions of sacred a cappella literature. The Choir’s singers\, who come from all backgrounds\, vocations and walks of life\, rehearse together weekly through the fall and winter and traditionally perform a narrated Christmas concert and spring concerts.  For more information about the Choir\, visit coshoctoncommunitychoir.org.
